TMRRFC received an award and congratulations from Rugby Canada this past week, congratulating the club on its 60th Anniversary.

From Rugby Canada CEO Graham Brown:

Dear Members of the Town of Mount Royal Rugby Club,

I am writing to congratulate the Town of Mount Royal Rugby Club on achieving a very significant milestone in your rugby club’s history. Achieving a 60th Anniversary is something special for all those associated with the club and a milestone achieved by very few rugby clubs across Canada. Your club has assisted rugby in Canada at many levels and those who have been associated with the Club over the past 60 years have helped shape the sport from the grass fields of the Town of Mount Royal region to the National Union.

The current and past executive members of the Town of Mount Royal Rugby Club are to be congratulated for the tireless effort and dedication that has gone into ensuring that the many rugby players who have experienced our game, had that opportunity. As with any milestone such as marking a 60th anniversary, congratulations must also go to the many other groups with the Town of Mount Royal Rugby Club community who have supported your club over the years. The many athletes (young and old), the many families of those athletes who supported their involvement each year and the many coaches, physiotherapists, managers, referees and volunteers who gave freely of their time. I would be remiss if I were not to also acknowledge those within your club who are now no longer with us and unable to share in the achievement. I am sure they would be very proud.

It is my understanding your club will be marking this tremendous occasion on over the Labour Day weekend this coming September. I wish you all the best during this period of celebration, and congratulations once again on a truly remarkable achievement.

All those involved in rugby across Canada share in the congratulatory praise for a job well done over the past 60 years!

Sincerely,
RUGBY CANADA
